Ottawa at Edmonton
If you asked me at the beginning of the season who would be favoured in this game, it wouldn't be Ottawa (although I might have thought Mike Reilly was injured). If this was in Ottawa I would give it to the REDBLACKS for sure, but it is in Edmonton. Still I don't think a lot of Matt Nichols at quarterback without more starts and Henry Burris has a lot of weapons at receiver. So REDBLACKS it is bizarre as it may seem.
REDBLACKS 27 Eskimos 22
Montreal at Winnipeg
Willy will play at quarterback for the Bombers this week, which is a little surprising after getting sandwiched by Hamilton's defenders last week, but there you go. Obviously Rakeem Cato kicked ass as quarterback for the Alouettes last week. Do the Bombers have a good enough defence to get him off his game? I'm not actually sure. The Bomber defence didn't look particularly good against Hamilton last week. Still I think Willy has more experience that Cato and they are at home. So the Bombers it is.
Bombers 26 Alouettes 22
Saskatchewan at BC
BC has only played one game and managed to lose it to Ottawa. So I can't think they are that great a team. The Riders almost won last week, then lost to the Argos at home because they couldn't stop Trevor Harris. The Riders now have Kevin Glenn as their starter for the season now. I'm inclined to pick the Riders, just because BC hasn't shown much and I'm wondering if their new coach is going to be a bust.
Roughriders 22 Lions 19
Toronto at Calgary
Sure Trevor Harris has looked great at quarterback for Toronto in place of the injured Ricky Ray and Calgary shat the bed in Montreal last week. However I have to think that the Stamps will play better at home and up to their standards. Plus Harris will probably come back to Earth.

2014 CFL Predictions Week 18
Montreal at Ottawa
An obviously important game for Montreal. An emotional game overall considering the week's past events in Ottawa. I expect the REDBLACKS to actually play a better game because of the events. However Montreal's defence is just too strong.
Alouetttes 24 REDBLACKS 20
Saskatchewan at Calgary
I'm assuming that the Riders are going with Kerry Joseph again at quarterback, but I don't think it will matter much even with Jon Cornish skipping the game. However Calgary doesn't really need to care much anymore the rest of the regular season. I still think Calgary wins though.
Stampeders 33 Roughriders 25
Hamilton at Toronto
This game is interesting. Toronto didn't look good last week, while Hamilton only looked OK at home versus Ottawa. Hamilton will likely have enough fans for it to be close to a neutral site game. I think Toronto just doesn't have the horses late in the season though.
Tiger-Cats 25 Argonauts 23
BC at Winnipeg
I'm assuming that with all the Bomber quarterback injuries this game isn't going to be easy even if Winnipeg is at home. The Lions haven't impressed me lately, but Glenn has had a lot of time as the quarterback, so they have the advantage.

2014 CFL Predictions Week 14
Montreal at Ottawa
Will the REDBLACKS ever win again? If they are to win again this season, this game at home has to be one of the few possibilities. The REDBLACKS almost won against the Riders at home last week, but blew it in overtime. Montreal hasn't been a particularly good team all year, but are mildly improved with Crompton in at quarterback. The Alouettes defence is decent as it has been the last couple of years and the Larks still have some residual receiver talent. That said, Ottawa seems due and Henry Burris was good last week, with three passing TDs and a running TD (which may be more important). Close but finally Ottawa will double their win total.
REDBLACKS 27 Alouettes 25
Saskatchewan at Edmonton
Basically this comes down to Tino Sunseri versus Mike Reilly and it is in Edmonton (although no doubt there will be some vocal Rider fans in Commonwealth). I'll take Reilly and watch Riders fans be glum about losing Darian Durant for the season.
Hamilton at Winnipeg
Will Winnipeg have its Willy? That's what this game hinges on, whether the Bombers will have injured quarterback Drew Willy. Initial reports suggest Winnipeg will be Willyless for this game which makes a big difference. Hamilton and quarterback Zach Collaros have been playing well the past few games and the defence has looked tough too, basically stonewalling Mike Reilly last week at Ivor Wynne. Sure C.J Gable is injured for Hamilton, but Madu is a satisfactory replacement as long as he holds on to the ball. Look for Hamilton to get to five wins.
Tiger-Cats 34 Bombers 29
BC at Calgary
I haven't heard that Bo Levi Mitchell will be back, so Drew Tate and his stupid dark visor will be the quarterback for Calgary. No Lulay for BC, so Kevin Glenn continues to go for BC. I'm a little tempted to go with BC, but Calgary is at home and is the better team overall, even if Jon Cornish doesn't play this game. Calgary has just found ways to win all year.

2014 CFL Predictions Week 12
Montreal at Edmonton
Edmonton has lost back to back games against Calgary, but the Alouettes aren't the Stamps. The Alouettes did manage to win at home last week with Crompton as their starting quarterback, but looked absolutely dreadful in the first half. Even if Reilly doesn't start for Edmonton, I would take Nicholls over Crompton especially at home.
Eskimos 41 Alouettes 25
Toronto at Calgary
One team only has one loss, is at home and the other team has no receivers (although I thought I heard something about Durie being back). So not really a hard call (East versus West this generally isn't a hard call in general).
Stampeders
Winnipeg at BC
So no more Lulay. Not that BC was any better with him last week compared to Glenn. This game is on the road for the Bombers who have lost two straight, albeit to the Riders. I'm going to go against the grain and pick the Bombers.
Bombers 29 Lions 21
Saskatchewan at Hamilton
Besides the quarterback position this week, the Riders have more talent than the Ticats (although for a two win team at this stage of the year, the Ticats' talent isn't that bad). However with no Durant, the Riders have to start some guy Tino Sunseri at pivot. The Riders now have Dressler back which would help, but not much with an inexperienced quarterback. The Cats start Collaros who has looked mostly good since returning for a concussion. The Riders have a great pass rush, but Collaros has looked relatively adept at picking up blitzes compared to most CFL quarterbacks who mostly just shit the bed whenever a blitz comes. The Cats are at home, but the difference in quarterbacks will be the game.

2014 CFL Predictions Week 8
A Tuesday game? That means I have to do this early. Damn Argos and their crappy stadium.
Winnipeg at Toronto
Strangely the Argos are favoured in this one, although not by much. Certainly the bye week helps Toronto. I just can't see the Bombers losing this one.
Bombers 33 Argonauts 24
Edmonton at Ottawa
The REDBLACKS have played enough games that we kind of know what they're going to be this season. And that's not very good. The Esks are surprisingly good this year. So sorry Ottawa.
Eskimos 41 REDBLACKS 27
Calgary at Hamilton
I'm basically expecting the Cats to lose another close one at tiny Ron Joyce Field at McMaster. The Cats are a pretty good team for 1 and 5, but they just seem snakebitten this year.
Stampeders 30 Ticats 26
Montreal at Saskatchewan
Why am I even putting some thought into this. Riders at home. The only curious thing will be to see if switching up quarterbacks helps the Als somewhat from ultracrap to just crap.
BC at Toronto
My brain says Toronto will lose because of the two games in one week. But you have to make a wacky pick every so often so Toronto at home. Kevin Glenn isn't omnipotent.
Argos 28 Lions 27

2014 CFL Predictions Week 7
Saskatchewan at Winnipeg
I'm going to go with Winnipeg at home. I'm assuming they'll be plenty of more motivated against the hated Riders. The Riders seem a bit hot and cold this season.
Bombers 35 Riders 29
Edmonton at Montreal
Uh, Edmonton.
Hamilton at BC
The Tiger-Cats can win this game, but it is in BC which is usually difficult for EST teams. I expect the Cats to lose a close one and Kent Austin to blow a gasket.
Ottawa at Calgary
Uh, Calgary.

2014 CFL Prediction Week 6
Winnipeg at Hamilton
Drew Willy versus Dan LeFevour. Who you believe in more is what this game comes down to. The Cats do have have home field advantage here which is definitely important in the CFL as I've posted about many times before. I'll be a bit of a homer here, but I think the Cats have the advantage this game. The Ticats D has looked good the past three games, and I think Drew Willy and the Bomber offense will come out rather flaccid against it. Look for a good game running and blocking by CJ Gable.
Ticats 35, Bombers 29
Toronto at Montreal
This matchup reminds me of the ass to ass scene in the movie Requiem for a Dream. I'm a little surprised that the Alouettes are favoured. The Argos aren't good right now, especially with their receiving corps banged up severely, but Ricky Ray is so much better than Troy Smith that I can't see the Montreal defence playing well enough to win.
Argos 23 Alouettes 19
BC at Calgary
Stamps, unbeaten and at home. Yeah I'm taking Calgary.
Stamps 41 Lions 21
Saskatchewan at Ottawa
I actually thought Ottawa played pretty well in Hamilton last week. Considering the game LeFevour had, the fact the Redblacks were in it until close to the end is impressive. The Riders seem improved so I'll take them, although I don't think the Redblacks are just going to roll over.

2014 CFL Predictions Week 2
Ottawa at Winnipeg
The Rot und Schwarz are a good story so far, as they have played no games. They do have a veteran quarterback in Henry Burris plus some decent parts. Ottawa should be better this first season than their last first season. Still though Drew "Slick" Willy didn't look bad last week leading the Bombers to a convincing home win. The Bombers are at home again, so I won't go against the massive home playoff advantage that CFL teams statistically enjoy.
Bombers 29, RotSchwarzen 16
BC at Montreal
I don't have a lot of faith in former Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith successfully taking over Anthony Calvillo's shoes. Kevin Glenn didn't look great last week, but I have more confidence that he'll start getting things together. The game is in Montreal, but I see the Alouettes as a team in disarray. As a bit of an aside, Travis Lulay has been put on the six game disabled list by the Lions. That makes me wonder if he'll end up being done for the season.
Lions 26, Alouettes 21
Hamilton at Edmonton
This one is a bit of a conundrum. Hamilton was embarrassed last week by the Riders in some ridiculous weather, giving up an atrocious ten sacks. Edmonton managed to beat BC on the road. Last year at home, Edmonton managed to beat Hamilton at home. Edmonton isn't quite Saskatchewan yet and Collaros shouldn't be so rushed. Still the Eskimos are at home. I'll go with home field advantage.
Esks 23, Good Guys 21
Saskatchewan at Toronto
After both games last week, even if Toronto is at home, I think the Riders are a fairly safe pick. The Argos have to show something this season before I'll pick them over the depending Grey Cup champs.

2014 CFL Predictions Week 1
The CFL regular season is back! Along with my weekly picks.
Toronto Argonauts at Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Newsflash! Winnipeg still sucks in 2014, but it may get better. Appointing former Argos special teams coach as head coach may or may not be a good move for the Bombers. The Bombers will go with Drew Willy at quarterback. Willy had some success last year with the Riders, but the Bombers aren't anywhere near as good as the 2013 Riders (the 2014 Riders aren't as good as the 2013 either).
The Argos still have Ricky Ray as their quarterback who should reliably although not particularly excitingly dissect the Bomber defence. Maybe Chad Owens will do something for the Argos.
Toronto 26, Winnipeg 19
Montreal Alouettes at Calgary Stampeders
The Stamps seem to be starting Bo Levi Mitchell at quarterback which is a smart move. Drew Tate is a whiny bitch. Jon Cornish is back to carry the mantle of best Canadian running back while also probably being the best running back. Montreal is going again with Troy Smith at quarterback. I'm not really sold on Smith, although at least he got some experience last season. The Als also have Chad Johnson to drive page views although whether he'll do much is a pretty open question. Stamps are at home and are likely to come out of the gate better than Montreal
Calgary 25, Montreal 19
Edmonton Eskimos at BC Lions
The Lions are the better team and are at home. Travis Lulay is injured but Kevin Glenn isn't much of a step down. Mike Reilly threw for a lot of yards for the Esks last year, most of it while running for his life. Edmonton could eventually end up better than last year, but I think the first game will be tough.
Lions 31, Esks 27
Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Saskatchewan Rough-Riders
The Cats are back to the seen of last year's Grey Cup against the same opponent. The Riders have lost of important players from last year's Cup winning team. The Cats lost Henry Burris and have replaced him with Zach Collaros. If the Cats were at home, I would go with a narrow Cat win, but the Riders (and basically every CFL team) are strong at home. Plus Collaros has only had a few weeks of training camp to get used to brand new receivers and to top it off, Cat slotback Andy Fantuz is out for a week.

2013 CFL Predictions Week 19
All games that don't matter!
Montreal at Toronto
Ricky Ray is being rested (pretty sensibly) which does hurt, although Collaros did quite well when Ray was injured. Toronto will probably rest anyone else who is iffy. Montreal will go with Troy Smith again and I will assume try to go with a lot of the first team offense just to try and get them more in sync with Smith before next week's playoff game. More likely some defenders may rest. Hard to pick. I have the feeling Toronto doesn't really care, however I do like Collaros better than Smith at this stage. Toronto is a much more ballhawking defence than Hamilton was the past two weeks against Smith, expect a few picks. Maybe even pick sixes.
Toronto 33 Montreal 22
Calgary at BC
Buck Pierce gets the start. But will he get the finish? Even if he is healthy (which is a bit of a stretch) DeMarco will probably finish. Haven't heard who starts for Calgary, but it will probably be Tate who will be motivated. BC is at home and the Stamps don't care too much. However the Lions offense has been mediocre all season, especially without Lulay. Talent seems to be a bit of problem and I don't expect that to change.
Stamps 44 Lions 38
Hamilton at Winnipeg
The Ticats wouldn't mind getting 10 wins and having a winning regular season (the last I believe was 2003), so there's that. Winnipeg is playing for their jobs, but that's because they aren't a very good team. The Cats have some starters coming back from injury who will play to get the rust off (hello Greg Ellingson) so it won't be a pile of total stiffs for Hamilton. Burris will get some work, but last week Masoli got a ton of action with the wildcat and was more effective than Burris and will obviously play a lot, so that might not be to Winnipeg's advantage. Defensive end Greg Peach (formerly a Ticat) is injured in a surprise to no one. Somehow with Hamilton needing a victory for a regular season winning record I think they'll do it. Also Winnipeg has been pretty incompetent this year.
Ticats 28 Bombers 26
Edmonton at Saskatchewan
A nothing game to the Riders, but Edmonton has found ways to lose all year, so I'm not go to even waste the time with a cursory analysis.

2013 CFL Predictions Week 18
Winnipeg at Toronto
It is has been a while since we had a Thursday game. So no procrastinating until Friday with my picks. The Bombers didn't look to bad against the Argos at home, but as the Bombers have been wont to do in 2013, they lost. In the Argonauts favour, Ricky Ray is now firmly back and the rust should be off. The Argos are also at home, which doesn't mean a lot since the double blue may be better on the road. The Bombers have nothing to lose, but not a lot to win either. I assume that there will be some evaluation of who should come back next year for Winnipeg. Probably a closer game than would be expected, but the Bombers aren't winning.
Argonauts 27 Bombers 23
Edmonton at BC
This game is interesting because neither time has much to play for. The Esks are out and the Lions can't get a home playoff game. No Lulay for this game is probably the most important fact. The Lions have lost three in a row and the Eskimos four. BC is at home, however I'm going to go for once with the Eskimos. Reilly has had a fair number of starts and should have the advantage over his counterpart DeMarco who hasn't played as well as he did initially.
Montreal at Hamilton
After last week's dismantling of the Hamilton offense by the Montreal defence, some would think the Cats are totally doomed. However it is often true in the CFL that it is difficult to win two games in a row against an opponent and Kent Austin is a good enough coach to make some adjustments to the Ticat offense. Despite what the CFL commentators said last week, Alouette quarterback Troy Smith wasn't actually very good with a completion rate just under 50%. Don't expect that to change this week. Plus Hamilton is 5 and 3 at home versus Montreal being 3 and 4 and Hamilton needs this game to get a home playoff game.
Ticats 33 Alouettes 24
Saskatchewan at Calgary
Not much to play for for either team except to set an example for when they could meet in the playoffs. Both teams are hot, with the Stamps winning four straight and watermelon people winning three. Calgary has been basically unbeatable at home, at 7 and 1, while the Riders are a respectable 5 and 3 away from home. This could come down to a Jon Cornish versus Kory Sheets battle. However I think the true edge for Calgary is that Kevin Glenn is playing better than Darian Durant at the moment.
Stampeders 41 Riders 36
2013 CFL Predictions Week 17
Calgary at Edmonton
This should be a no brainer game. The Stampeders are the best team in the league and Edmonton is pretty much the worst. Kevin Glenn has been effective after emerging as the starter and Jon Cornish either the best or second best running back in the league depending on whether you're a Rider fan or not. Edmonton has a bad offensive line and a mediocre defense. The Esks have nothing really left to play for except the rivalry, while the Stamps would like to lock down first in the East. The Eskimos will probably play with pride and then lose a close one for yet another moral victory.
Stampeders 37 Eskimos 32
Toronto at Winnipeg
Somewhat shockingly the Bombers are coming off a win and the Argos a loss. In theory the Bombers could still get a playoff spot, but don't have much room for error. The Argos have the inside track on home field advantage in the East and beating Winnipeg this week would certainly help. The Argos had a lot of injuries in their loss to Hamilton last week, however they did have Ricky Ray back at quarterback. Ray looked rusty in the first half, however by the end of the game he piled up some decent stats, without Chad Kackert at running back. The Bombers could win, but two wins in a row is too much to ask this bad team and Toronto will be looking to get back on track after two straight losses and more importantly losing the beloved Harold Ballard Cup to the Ticats.
Argonauts 33 Bombers 24
BC at Saskatchewan
This one is an important game for determining who has home field advantage for the West semi-final (I'm pretty much conceding that the Stamps will host the final). The game is in Saskatchewan, which obviously helps the Riders, plus the flatlanders also have a healthy Kory Sheets. BC still is Lulayless which hurts. DeMarco has been decent so far in relief, but will be hard pressed in Mosaic. Expect the Lions to lose.
Riders 29 Lions 25
Hamilton at Montreal
This one is a bit hard to call. Montreal managed to lose to Winnipeg last week at home, which can't be great for momentum. Plus with the loss, it will be difficult for the Alouettes to catch Hamilton for a home playoff game, despite how much Mark Cohen probably loathes a 13,000 stadium hosting a playoff game. Hamilton can catch Toronto as long as they win one more game than the Argos over the last three games, which won't be easy with the Argos playing two of them against the hapless Bombers. Hamilton is the hotter team, coming off two straight victories, with an offense that is clicking and an improved defence. The Alouettes have the better defence, but with Neiswander in instead of Calvillo, their offense will end up screwing them. Cats win.

2013 CFL Predictions Week 16
BC at Calgary
The Lions still don't have quarterback Travis Lulay back which is definitely a problem. DeMarco is decent, but isn't at Lulay's level yet as proved in their loss at home to the Riders last week. The Stampeders do have their starting quarterback Kevin Glenn playing (I think at this point Drew Tate can't be considered the starter). The Stamps are at home and are coming off a win where non-import running back Jon Cornish was particularly effective. The Stamps can go a long way towards locking up home field advantage or at least a home playoff game. Expect them to win.
Stamps 28 Lions 19
Edmonton at Saskatchewan
The Riders proved that with Kory Sheets back at running back, they were capable of beating the Lions on the road after four straight losses. Edmonton proved last week they are still a bad team. Last I heard, Sheets is available this week and the Riders are at home. The Riders also picked up defensive end Alex Hall from the Bombers (who happens to lead the CFL in sacks) for a small bag of Old Dutch dill pickle flavour chips). One of those games where there's not a lot to say.
Riders 40 Eskimos 13
Winnipeg at Montreal
The Bombers have no chance at the playoffs and are basically playing out the string and trying to figure out who should be back next year, which probably includes starting quarterback Max Hall.
The Bombers won't have Alex Hall on their defense as previously mentioned, but will go with oft injured Hamilton castoff Greg Peach. Montreal will counter with Neiswander at quarterback. The Alouettes are sort of hot, winning two games straight, the Bombers not so much. The Alouettes could potentially still host a home playoff game so they'll be motivated.
Alouettes 27 Bombers 12
Toronto at Hamilton
The Argos lost in Toronto against the Cats last week after four straight road wins, some against tough opponents with backup quarterback Collaros at the helm. Starter Ricky Ray could be back this week which would be an improvement but not a massive one. Hamilton could in theory catch the Argos for first in the East, but more likely a win would solidify their chances of hosting the East semi-final. The Cats still have some injury problems, like Ellingson and Giguere amongst the receivers, but have built a reasonable team and Burris has been healthy at quarterback despite the massive number of sacks the Cats have coughed up. The Cats are at home in Guelph, and even if Ray plays, he'll probably have a little rust.

2013 CFL Predictions Week 12
Hamilton at Calgary
There's a few facets in this game. Hamilton has looked good of late, especially their offense. They beat BC last week, but haven't beat any other good teams. Calgary is at home and have been hot, but they are starting Bo Levi Mitchell in place of their various injured quarterbacks. Tate and Glenn are listed as backups, although what that actually means is uncertain. Mitchell has looked good, but against the rather woeful Edmonton Eskimos. Despite the home game, I'll take the Ticats and their hot offense.
Ticats 31 Stampeders 26
Winnipeg at Edmonton
Battle of the suck teams! Winnipeg is coming off a victory over Saskatchewan, while Edmonton can't seem to win a game. Both teams are crap, but I'll take the Eskimos based on the home field advantage. Plus Mike Reilly hasn't really played that bad, considering his offensive line.
Toronto at Saskatchewan
The Riders will be annoyed after to losing last week to the lowly Bombers in the Banjo Bowl. They have lost middle linebacker Rey Williams for the season, which will hurt somewhat. The Argos are still stuck with Collaros at quarterback while Ricky Ray's shoulder heals. I'll take the Riders over a backup quarterback at home easily.
Riders 33 Argonauts 20
Montreal at BC
The Alouettes are lucky that this game isn't a night game and won't have to deal with playing late. Montreal is also forced to go with backup Tanner Marsh due to Anthony Calvillo's concussion. Montreal's defence is good, but has collapsed late, like last week's debacle against the Argos at home. Travis Lulay hasn't been particularly fantastic for the Lions, but has been decent and they are at home. Expect at BC victory.

2013 CFL Predictions Week 11
Calgary at Edmonton
I'm going to go out on a limb here and call an upset. Edmonton came close to winning last week and it is difficult for teams to win back to back games. Mike Reilly is putting up some decent passing numbers (although they're juiced from being behind a lot and abandoning the running game). Calgary is missing Nik Lewis due to his broken leg and Cornish wasn't particularly effective last week. A close one, but the Eskimos take it.
Edmonton 29 Calgary 27
BC at Hamilton
Hamilton was close on the West Coast last week, but ultimately were burned by some long bombs, plus a few key referee calls (including the weakest horse collar tackle I've seen). It's tough for teams to win back to back (which I've already mentioned). Hamilton has some injury problems (including Giguere at receiver and Boudreaux at defensive end), but the Lions are missing Solomon Elimimian as the middle linebacker. I'll pick Hamilton in Guelph.
Hamilton 33 BC 26
Toronto at Montreal
It is a back to back festival! Considering Montreal was able to win the battle of the backup quarterbacks last week, I think it makes sense to go with them at home. Plus the Montreal defence seems to be coming together. Not that the Argo defence is that bad, but they're not great.
Montreal 25 Toronto 21
Saskatchewan at Winnipeg
Worst team versus best team. While the Bombers at least didn't embarrass themselves too badly in the first half last week, I can't pick them in good conscious, even at home.

2013 CFL Predictions Week 10
Hamilton at BC
Eastern teams haven't traditionally done well playing in BC at night (and BC almost always has night games). Injury wise the Cats are going to be missing Sam Giguere due to an arm injury and replace him with vet non-import Dave Stala. The Cats have enough slotbacks and receivers that that isn't a big deal. However, despite Hamilton winning three in a row, I'm going to go with BC due to their home field advantage.
BC 29 Hamilton 24
Winnipeg at Saskatchewan
One team has one win, one team has one loss. The Riders are at home to boot, and I have no idea who is going to start at quarterback for Winnipeg, nor do I have a lot of confidence in new offensive co-ordinator Marcel Bellefeuille to turn it around. I predict that Corey Sheets is going to run wild over the Bombers in pursuit of 2000 yards rushing this year. It won't be close.
Riders 40 Bombers 19
Edmonton at Calgary
The Eskimos have improved the last couple of weeks, and I do see a possibility of them splitting the home and home series. However this game is at home for Calgary and I don't see them losing it. Kevin Glenn has looked good in replacement of the oft injured Drew Tate (who seems to be morphing into the new Buck Pierce), although not having receiver Nik Lewis hurts. Edmonton will win eventually, just not this week.
Stampeders 29 Eskimos 22
Montreal at Toronto
Ricky Ray is out with injury and so is Anthony Calvillo. So it is the battle of the backup quarterbacks. Zach Collaros has more (although not much) experience than Montreal's Tanner Marsh, who played well last week in the Alouette's victory. I'll take the slightly more experienced Collaros and home field advantage.
Toronto 22 Montreal 19

2013 CFL Predictions Week 9
BC at Montreal
Anthony Calvillo is out with a concussion so Josh Neiswander (who didn't do well in relief of Calvillo last week) is in for Montreal. The game is in Montreal, however I can't see Travis Lulay losing to Neiswander. The Alouettes still have some good offensive tools, however Neiswander will find it difficult to use them. I assume that the Als will run a lot and maybe Neiswander as well, but it won't be enough.
Lions 35 Montreal 18
Calgary at Toronto
This should be a good game, especially since it is in Toronto. I assume that Ray is playing as I haven't heard anything else. The Stamps may be missing star non-import running back Jon Cornish and chunky receiver Nik Lewis is out with a broken leg, so there goes a lot of the Stamp offence. I'm not sure who's starting at quarterback but I'm assuming Tate is still doing his Buck Pierce impression and Kevin Glenn will start again.
Given all the injuries to the Stamps I have to give the nod to Toronto.
Argos 28 Stampeders 26
Fun fact: the Calgary fight song is Ye Men of Calgary!
Winnipeg at Hamilton
Former number three guy Max Hall gets his second start in a row against the Cats, although the Bombers didn't do a lot in their new stadium last week in terms of offence. They have a new offensive co-ordinator in former Ticat coach Marcel Bellefeuille. I'm not sure if that helps in the first week.
The Cats are healthy on offence and look to be rolling. Even defensively last week there was some interceptions (albeit against the Bombers) for once. The game is in Guelph which should give some advantage to the Cats.
The Bombers are in turmoil, so picking the Cats is easy.
Cats 33 Bombers 21
Saskatchewan at Edmonton
On the surface this seems like an easy game to pick. Also below the surface it is an easy game to pick. Riders easily.

2013 CFL Predictions Week 8
Hamilton at Winnipeg
Hamilton is coming off a road win and the Bombers are in disarray management wise and are going with their third string quarterback as the starter. I think that's going to be a Hamilton win, although stranger things have happened.
Tiger-Cats 35 Bombers 21
Montreal at Saskatchewan
Sure the Riders lost last week on the road, but they're at home and their opponent is Montreal who have jettisoned their coach. Anthony Calvillo has looked 40 this year and this could be his last season. Riders easily.
Riders 32 Alouettes 19
Calgary at BC
The Stamps come off a big win last week versus Saskatchewan, while the Lions are on a bye week. Both teams are good, but I'm going to go with BC's historically strong home record. Probably going against momentum, but the bye week should be useful for injuries.
Lions 28 Stampeders 25
Edmonton at Toronto
Still not sure who starts for Toronto, but I'm guessing Ricky Ray although the Argos at least have a competent backup. Edmonton is not in good shape and are on the road. Is Kavis Reed's job in danger? Who knows? Toronto wins easily.

2013 CFL Predictions Week 7
Toronto at Montreal
I'm not sure who's starting for Toronto, although considering the job the backup Collaros did, I'm not sure it matters. Montreal is at home and maybe they have some momentum from ditching their coach and installing GM Jim Popp as the new coach, but I'm going to pick Toronto. They just seem like a better team.
Argos 29 Alouettes 19
Saskatchewan at Calgary
This one is interesting and I'm assuming the Bo Levi Mitchell starts, although I'm not sure of that either. I'm not sure if Durrant starts for Saskatchewan, but I'm guessing he will after a week off. Calgary is at home, but I'm sure there will be a lot of Rider fans in attendance, so that won't be as big a factor as usual. I'm going to go out on a limb though and say that the Riders lose their first game of the season. It has to happen sometime. The Riders aren't that great, more of a factor how poor some of the teams seem this year (especially offenses).

2013 CFL Picks Week 5
Edmonton at Montreal
Hmmm. Montreal looked OK in the first quarter last week against Calgary and then fell apart. That's generally no good, but shows they can at least do something. Edmonton still has a young quarterback who hasn't done very much. Montreal is at home. That pretty much seals it for me.
Alouettes 29 Esks 16
Calgary at Winnipeg
Who's starting for Calgary? I'm not sure. Goltz is for Winnipeg, so no Buck although that hasn't mattered much this season. I'm tempting by Calgary, but I'll go with my gut and Winnipeg's defense and home field advantage.
Bombers 22 Stampeders 19
Saskatchewan at Hamilton
Is Durant injured? Beats me. I'm betting not though. Hamilton will no doubt do better than last week's pasting, being in Guelph, but they'll still lose. The Cats linebacking corps is in a bit of turmoil with Markeith Knowlton being released. Good run offense versus linebackers in flux. Not generally good.

Weird Tuesday game. Toronto isn't bad but they're not great either. Haven't heard much about Ricky Ray's health, but I'm guessing he'll be back for Tuesday. BC is pretty good, but occasionally underachieves and they are on the road. I'll go with BC just on injury rumours. That's kind of related to the Wall Street adage buy on rumor sell on news, although I'm not sure it is right.

Hmmm. Montreal looked OK in the first quarter last week against Calgary and then fell apart. That's generally no good, but shows they can at least do something. Edmonton still has a young quarterback who hasn't done very much. Montreal is at home. That pretty much seals it for me.

Calgary at Winnipeg
Who's starting for Calgary? I'm not sure. Goltz is for Winnipeg, so no Buck although that hasn't mattered much this season. I'm tempting by Calgary, but I'll go with my gut and Winnipeg's defense and home field advantage.
